Four Days Until The Captive Kingdom is Released

And so the countdown continues. As always, make sure you’ve seen the previous post before continuing. You can check that out here. Alright it’s four days until we get the long-awaited fourth book in the Ascendance Series…The Captive Kingdom. With each day the fun here at TWN’s countdown continues. Are you ready for today’s post?

–

Are you sure?

Then, let’s dive in.

Note today’s post DOES contain spoilers. You need to have read at least The False Prince before continuing.

Alright, we’re starting off with my fifth favorite character. And the fifth favorite character is…… IMOGEN!! So, Imogen starts off being the mute servant in the first book, until…wait…she’s not mute! What I like a lot with Imogen is how we never really get to know all there is to know about her. She’s very mysterious. And she’s one of those girls who will never leave Jaron’s side. EVER!! And even when Jaron said those things that hurt her, she still stood by him even to the Avenian pirates. I like how she’s brave and loved Jaron enough to die for him.

Today’s post is going to be focused mainly on Imogen.

Now is time for———————–the MOOD BOARD.

Yes, I had to choose this line. I know it’s really depressing and all, but bear with me. We’re going into much happier things.

Two all-time favorite Imogen moments. The first is from The Runaway King; the second, The Shadow Throne:

Her [Imogen] eyes scanned the dark skies. “Did it rain? Why are you all wet?”
“A nighttime bath.”
“Fully dressed?”
“I’m modest.”

And the other one…

SPOILERS read The Shadow Throne first.

I loved her, and needed her like I needed the beat of my heart. But none of it was complete unless I knew she could feel even the smallest part of that for me.
I began to say something, but she wasn’t finished. “I can’t remember a minute since we met when I haven’t been in love with you.”

So sweet, I know. Next I’m going to show you some fan art of Jaron and Imogen. I had already shown it on the first day of the countdown, but it fit so well with today’s theme, I’m going to share it again.

And now, what I’m super excited for. I have no idea what to call it, so we’re just going with really-cool-thing.

And

here

it

is

Soooooooooooooooooooo beautiful. (Tomorrow’s theme will be on my fourth favorite character…. AMARINDA.) Ahhh, I don’t know about you but I just can’t wait for The Captive Kingdom to finally be released.

She is the author of Don't Let Me Go (Sky's the Limit Press 2024), May We Make Them Proud (2023), and a co-editor for two anthologies. What she’s probably doing right now is fangirling about her favorite books to random people or scanning the pantries for chocolate.
