Escaping the Blogosphere Kick-off Post

You double check the title of the post, scratching your head. What was this? Another one of Issabelle’s crazy ideas? Or was it Maggie again? That girl changed her name so many times, you lost track exactly who she was now. You sigh, wondering if you should keep on reading. Could it get anymore crazy on this site? Probably, yes. Maybe if you quietly started avoiding the site, no one would notice your disappearance. You move your mouse to the top of the page. Your finger hovers over the keypad, ready to click the back arrow and exit the page.

But…you pause. Teen Writers’ Nook had never been straight-out rude to you. Maybe I should just give this a chance, you wonder. What could it hurt? It wasn’t like Issabelle ever tried to be crazy. Unless she did. That sounded like something she’d do. And it wasn’t Katherine and Alana’s fault for her weirdness.

You slowly move your mouse away and study the header for the new post. Escaping the Blogosphere, the banner above the post read. You don’t feel like escaping anything except the mountain of homework waiting for you to tackle. In comparison, reading this post sounded way more entertaining. You nod, making your choice. You could always head out of here if it got too strange. For now, it was time to uncover what exactly Issabelle had planned this time.

You start reading the post and suddenly your bedroom fades away. You jump up as everything around you dissolves until you find yourself in a white room. A huge screen lines one of the blank walls. You peer closer and inwardly groan. Before you, on the computer screen, is the same post from Teen Writers’ Nook. You suddenly realize why it was called Escaping the Blogosphere. Instructions flash across the screen, you take a deep breath knowing there’s only one way out.

ALRIGHT WE HAVE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The OFFICIAL kick-off for this super secret project I had been working on is now revealed!!!!!! ESCAPING THE BLOGOSPHERE BEGINS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

WELCOME one and all!!!

Eh, that’s my attempt to get everyone as excited as I am. So, TWN is hosting our FIRST EVER virtual scavenger hunt! THANK YOU ALL for joining us!!!!

How it will work: At the end of this post will be a clue for something you have to find on TWN. You have to crack the clue and find it! When you do, there will be a link to another blog. Tomorrow that blog will have stop number two. At the end of that post there will be another clue for something you have to find on their blog (like a post or image, etc.). You find it and then you’ll have the link to the next blog. And so forth. You keep going until you find your escape out of the blogosphere. (Be looking for a big brown door!!) If I’m not explaining this very well, feel free to ask any questions in the comments below!

Aaanndd there are some AWESOME prizes! Yep! You heard me right! PRIZES! Don’t worry, they’re all gonna be virtual!

ONE GRAND PRIZE WINNER gets: 5 customized, printable bookmarks design / 3 graphics of your choice designed by me (it can be like a character board, mock cover, bookmark, you can choose literally ANYTHING that I can design) / 1 chance to do a guest post on TWN (you don’t need to have a blog to guest post on TWN and the post can be anything you want) / and you get to pick the name for an upcoming character in What Lay Beyond the Woods (You can even choose your own name!)

So, how do you enter? All you have to do is in the comments below tell me what your favorite book quote ever is! (Make sure you comment under an email I can reach you by so you can claim your prizes if you’re one of the winners.) Here’s the most awesome thing ever! Every post a part of the virtual scavenger hunt that you comment on, earns you an extra entry! Giveaway closes 12 P.M. EST on Feb. 3rd, all comments have to be in by then! Also, YOU HAVE TO COMMENT ON THIS POST once to be officially entered! If you wanna tell me your fav book quote but don’t wanna be entered, that’s TOTALLY fine, just lemme know in your comment!

Also, huge THANK YOU to all of the blogs joining in on this! I just wanted to add that if I didn’t ask your blog it’s got ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with how much I like your blog! Some people I wasn’t sure how to contact, one blog I really wanted to ask took a hiatus, some I didn’t know if they’d wanna do it, and some people I did reach out via their contact form but never heard back and am now wondering if it didn’t work, ‘cause a few of them were people I really thought would. And one girl actually told me she never got it. (So, if you’re wondering why I didn’t ask you, most likely I did and something didn’t work right. Tech can be really hard to handle sometimes.) Anyway, even if you weren’t asked I still LOVE YOUR BLOG SOOO MUCH and think you’re an AWESOME PERSON!!!!! I just don’t want anyone to be upset if they weren’t asked!!! (Also, I do wanna note that due to some really bad planning on my part, there’ll be a two day gap between Saturday’s blog and Tuesday’s blog. So, when you get the link to the next blog on Saturday, just know that the next awesome blogger won’t be doing her post until Tuesday! Thank you!)

And now for the CLUE. I’m gonna go ahead and give you a hint that you’re looking for an image on a post we did not post too long ago: On a blog with teen writers, you’ll find a cover with a girl who’s a fighter. A short story won, Fairly Impish was spun.

Alright, I literally have no skill when it comes to making clues. XD Like what in the world does it even mean? XD

Who knows!! Well, gooooo find that image!!!!

Soooo in the comments below tell me: Do you like the idea? And what’s your favorite book quote! (So you can be entered in the contest.) Are you ready to escape the blogosphere? LET IT BEGIN!!

Issabelle Perry is a proud Jesus follower, an extroverted writer, and a homeschool graduate. When she's not writing, you can find her reading, jamming to Skillet, studying history, hunting for Narnia in wardrobes, or envisioning herself wielding a magnificent sword (but due to her clumsiness, let’s hope that never happens). This self-proclaimed exclamation mark enthusiast can be found hanging out at Teen Writers’ Nook, a community of teen authors Issabelle co-founded in 2020. She is the author of Don't Let Me Go (Sky's the Limit Press 2024), May We Make Them Proud (2023), and a co-editor for two anthologies. What she’s probably doing right now is fangirling about her favorite books to random people or scanning the pantries for chocolate.

I’m so excited about this!! Thanks so much for doing this! (By the way, I figured out the clue and I’m so proud at myself because I’m terrible at these things! :P)
Ooh, it’s so hard to choose just one favorite book quote. There are so many that I like! I really like what Gandalf says to Frodo in The Fellowship of the Ring: “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” It reminds me to use my time wisely because every moment counts for eternity.

    • Issabelle

WHOOOOO!!!!!! Me too!!!! Aww, girl, you’re sooo welcome! THANK YOU for participating!!! (WHOOO!!!!!! YOU GO GURL!!!! 🙂 Haha, I’m VERY bad at these things too!!!)
IKR!!!! I have TONS of fav book quotes it’d be impossible to pick a single one!!! Awww, I just LOVE THIS QUOTE TOO!!!! SOOO MUCH!!!!! <33 DEFINITELY one of my favs!!! 😀 Very true right there! It's a good reminder to live every moment for Jesus and that every single little thing counts!!!! LOVE THIS!!!!! <33 I hope you win something!
Now, let the scavenger hunt BEGIN!!!! <33

  • Jane

I am SOOOOO entering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This sounds SUPER fun!!!!!!!!!
    My favorite book quote:
“I’m training to be a spy, it’s my job to know things.” -Spy School by Stuart Gibbs.
    I. AM. READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was made for this!!!!! Well, not really, but God must have known I was going to enter so kinda. 😂
Also, I think I found the post that you gave us a clue to. Maybe. I’m like 95% certain. 🙂
    What’s your favorite book quote?

    • Issabelle

WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I hope you win something!!!! <33 YESS!!! I'm soooo glad you think so!! I was literally planning this for over two months!!
Ooooh, YES!!! I remember you telling me you liked that quote!! I LOVE IT TOO!!!!!! <33 AWESOME!!!!
YES!! I. Am. Sooo. Ready. For. This!! LOL!! Yeah, God totally would've known so I'd say you were made for this! 😂
WHOOOO!!!!!! You go gurl!!!!! <33 *sends motivating chocolate* To be certain, underneath the image it says this was it and tells you the next blog, so if you saw that then you TOTALLY found it!!!!! *pumps fist in the air*
Ooooh, I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!!! Naturally it comes from The Shadow Throne: "I am commanded by the king of Avenia to give you one last order and so I shall. Here me now and always: be loyal to the thing you know is right. Never bend to weakness, never yield to a false crown. Right will always triumph in the end and you will want to be on that side when it does." The reason I've always liked that quote is 'cause it reminds me not to bend to the ways of this world, not to yield to its false crown, but to remain loyal to Jesus Christ - what I know is right.
Soo, now, let the scavenger hunt BEGIN! (I don't know why I just love saying that. XD)

      • Jane

I got it right!!!! I completely forgot to even look for a link the first time. XD
I think you did a great job making the clue to get there, it was pretty simple once I knew that I had to go to the *********** *** and then ****** ****** and after that, all I had to do was ************ ******* **********. I have always wanted to try that!! 😛
Ooooh, I like that quote too!!!!! I just realized that your and Kristiannes quotes both have a deep and beautiful meaning behind them, while mine doesn’t have that at all. Oh well, it’s still one of my favorites!!
Haha, yes!! let the scavenger hunt begin!!!!! (You’re right!! it is fun to say!)

        • Issabelle

WHOOOO!!!!!! GOOO JANE!!!! *dancing around* XD LOL!! Well…yeah, you’re gonna need that link Jane to escape the blogosphere!! (Nah, I’m just messing around with you. I’m sure you know by now, I tease people all the time.)
YESS!!!!! I’m SUPER GLAD you think so, ’cause I was a li’l bit worried!!! 🤣🤣 I’m gonna act like I completely understand what the parts marked out were supposed to be. XD But yes, I’ve actually always wanted to try that out too. XD It seems like it’d be LOTS of fun!! 😜 (Look, I used your frequently used emoji!!! XD)
THANK YOU!!! It has always been one of my FAVORITES!!!! Hahaha, well, that’s TOTALLY OKAY!! I still like yours a lot!! I mean, it totally sums up spies and you know I just LOVE myself a good spy story!!! 🙂 Aaannnddd it had the VERY deep and touching meaning of how a spy’s life works. *sobs into tissues* My life is soo changed after reading that quote. XD 🤣
THE SCAVENGER HUNT IS BEGINNING!!!! (Still very fun to say!)

          • Jane

I really have no idea what the marks are supposed to be either, I just put them up there!! XD
I guess the quote is meaningful to a spy. I wonder if spies actually say that? You can never have too many spy quotes!! (well, you can, but we’re ignoring that fact. XD)

            • Issabelle

LOL!!!!!! That’s TOTALLY something I’d do!! Just put them there for the sake of putting them there. XD
Yeah…I guess. Ooooh, that’d be cool!!!! Sometimes, though, it seems our fictional ideas of spies act waaaaaay cooler than real spies. XD YESS!!! YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY SPY QUOTES!!!!!!!!! (LOL!!! Well, yeah, I guess maybe you can but yep!! TOTALLY ignoring that fact. XD)

  • Allie Jo Andersen

Yay, I’m so excited!!! I LOVE the idea!!! It’s going to be so fun!! 😀

Hmm, my favorite book quote. . . Off the top of my head, I love the quote from The Captive Kingdom where Jaron talks about how he uses his humor to cover up how he really feels (or something along the lines of that). However, I don’t have that book next to me at the moment, and since I have another book quote, here’s another one of my favorites from The Boy Who Knew Everything by Victoria Forester:

“Who the heck are you kids?” Mr. Kaiser couldn’t take his eyes off Piper.
    “No one.”
When Mr. Kaiser gave Conrad a look, Conrad shrugged. “No one that matters, at least. We aren’t mutants, we aren’t superheroes; we’re just kids who happen to be able to fly or have X-ray vision or shrink. It’s just who we are.”

My favorite quote is that last snippet of dialogue, but I thought I’d add the other bit in beforehand for a bit of context. 😉

    • Issabelle

YESS!!!! Me too!!!! *happy dances around* I’ve been literally waiting for this day for like over two months and now it’s FINALLY HERE!!!! *does more dancing* YAY!!! I hope it’s gonna be TONS OF FUN!!!! 😀

LOL!!!! Just about any Sage quote is automatically a favorite for me. XD I actually have many scenes from that series MEMORIZED. Though, not any from The Captive Kingdom, ’cause I haven’t had time to properly reread through the book a hundred times. XD YET! But THAT OTHER QUOTE IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!! Haha, I REALLY like it!!!! I hope you win something! 🤞 (Haha, that’s okay! The extra context just makes the quote EVEN MORE AWESOME!!!!!!)
Noooww, let the scavenger hunt BEGIN!!!! (I just LOVE saying that. Don’t ask me why. XD *shrugs*)

      • Allie Jo Andersen

That’s awesome!!! Wow, you’ve been planning this for a while!!! 😀 Yes, I know it will be!!!

Haha, true!! Wow, I don’t quite have any memorized yet, but they are pretty memorable! 😉 Thanks!!! That book (and the books in the rest of that series, The Girl Who Could Fly and The Girl Who Fell Out Of The Sky) are SOO good!!! I highly recommend them! 😀

        Yess! Let it begin!!! 😀

        • Issabelle

Yep, a SUPER LONG time!!!!! It’s great to finally see it happening. 🙂 WHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha, yeah, I don’t think most people do. I have a feeling it’s only the obsessed fans like me. XD 😆 But I’ll be watching or reading something and someone will say something and next thing I know I remember something in the book that Sage said and I’m like if he were in this story that’s EXACTLY what he would say!!!! Oooooh, really? I’m gonna have to check them out then! They sound like they’d be REALLY COOL!!!!!

          YESS!!! It has begun! 🙂

  • 𝓔𝓮𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓲 💜

So excited for this! Here’s one of my favorite book quotes (I have so many!):
“It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends.”
-Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
Also, if you didn’t see my email, it’s ***************

    • Issabelle

WHOOOO!!!! YESS!!! I’m just jumping up and down over here for this!! I’ve literally been waiting for MONTHS for this post and it is FINALLY here!!!! (Haha, I TOTALLY get ya there, sister!!! I have sooooo many fav quotes. I actually have a journal that I’ve filled with my favorite book quotes!)
Aww, I LOVE THIS QUOTE SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!! It’s a very good and inspiring quote!!! <33 <33 THANK YOU for entering!!! I hope you win something! 🤞 Yep! I've got your email!!!! No worries!!!! 🙂
Now, LET THE SCAVENGER HUNT BEGIN!!!!!! *throws out party streamers* (I just LOVE saying that. 😜) Oh, and THANK YOU SOO MUCH for reading and commenting!!! <33

  • Joy Caroline

Oh, I am SO sorry. I just realized I gave away something I shouldn’t have in my original comment (you know what it is 😂). So delete that one. I am literally so sorry about that. *slaps forehead*

But I am so excited for this! As for my favorite book quote, you KNEW it was gonna be something from To Kill a Mockingbird. You KNEW it. So don’t act surprised, LOL. Here it is:

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” – Atticus Finch, TKAM page 39

    • Issabelle

Hahaha, that’s really okay! I’m not being super secretive on it, but I deleted it anyway, ’cause you asked!!! The secret shall continue to live for another day! *pumps fist in the air* No worries! Like I said, it’s perfectly okay!!!! <33

LOL!! I will not act surprise!!! I did know it!!! 🙂 Actually, this morning I was chatting with Katherine and I was like, I bet JC will use a quote from TKAM. Soooo...I WAS RIGHT!!!! *happy dance*

Oooh, I LOVE THIS QUOTE!!!!!! I think it's a very good think to remember and consider!!!! AWESOME!!!!! (I really need to read TKAM!) I hope you win something! 🤞

      • Joy Caroline

Oh, that’s a relief! Yes, we shall keep it our little secret another day. XD

Oh my goodness, that’s so funny! You guys know me so well. I never even considered using a quote from another book, because as you know, I am just obsessed with TKAM. You totally, totally, TOTALLY need to read it!!!!!

I know, right? That quote is epic. It’s so hard to choose just one of Atticus’s quotes, because he has so many wise ones. (Again, y’all NEED to read the book!!)

        • Issabelle

Hehehehe…*mimic zipping up lips and throwing away the key* XDD

LOL!! IKR!!!!! Haha, yeah, I think I do!!!! 🙂 Really? Wow, you really are obsessed with TKAM!! BUT are you as obsessed as I am with The False Prince?? That’s the big question. 😆🤔 Aaahh, I know!!! I SOOOOO NEED TO READ IT!!!!!! I’m sure it must be AWESOME since you seem to love it a lot!!!! I feel like I’m really missing out! XD I’ll put it on my TBR.

SOOO EPIC!!!!! <33 Aaah, I'm sure! It seems like a book filled with super awesome quotes! (YES!! I NEED to read it!)

          • Joy Caroline

Yesss! You totally need to read it! *pumps fist in the air and screams that I got Issa to put TKAM on her TBR* You will love, love, love, love, love it. You will love it MORE than The False Prince! Just warning… TKAM made me sob, so make sure you have a good supply of tissues.

😂 While I did enjoy The False Prince, no book can ever rival TKAM. No book even comes close. LOL, sorry Issa, but I am not quite as obsessed as you are. The False Prince to you is like TKAM to me. 😂

            • Issabelle

YESS!!!!! LOL!!!! 🤣🤣 Now I wonder how you’re gonna react if/when I actually get to read the book. XD Maybe by that time we’ll be able to eat chocolate to celebrate. WHOOOO!!!!! It sounds SUPER AWESOME!!!!! I’m soooo certain I will love it!!! Um…yeah, don’t wanna burst your bubble but I seriously doubt I could ever love a fiction book MORE than The False Prince. 😆 Well, at least not any published right now. I have a feeling if/when you and some other TWN readers publish y’all’s books I’ll probably love and rant about it more!!!!!!!! <33 Oooh, if it does make me cry it deserves extra bonus points for that!!!!!!!! XD *stocking up on tissue boxes*

Hmmm....really??? No book whatsoever!!!! 🤔😂😂 Hey, that's actually perfectly fine with me!! I can't have anyone else taking the spotlight for Jennifer Nielsen's number one fan!!!!!!! That place is reserved solely for me. XD I actually TOTALLY believe that!!

              • Joy Caroline

I am gonna go NUTS when you read TKAM, because I KNOW you will love love LOVE it!!! Ugh, TFP was a fun read, but TKAM reaches a heavenly level no other book possibly can. Ever. I will NEVER love a book or an author more than I love TKAM and Harper Lee! (But these are just friendly arguments. I will say, though, that no one has read a good book until they’ve read TKAM. And it will totally make you cry. XD)

                • Issabelle

LOL!!! Aaah, even more reason for me to read it!! 😉 Oooh, AWESOME!!!! It sounds like a story I’d LOVE!!! Buuut not as much as TFP. Sorry, but we’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this one, ’cause I ain’t moving for nothing!!! XD (I’m just joking around here. Friendly arguments, like you said. XD) Really? You mean, I’M not your new fav author. *gasp* I am SHOCKED!!! 😱 XD 🤣🤣🤣 (And I will say that no one has read a good book until they’ve read Into the Lamp!! Nah, I’m kidding. Seriously, though, you haven’t until you’ve read TFP. XD Aahh, this could go on for a while. 🤣🤣)

                  • Joy Caroline

Yeah, friendly arguments. We will have to agree to disagree, because TKAM is better than any book that ever touched the planet or will ever touch the planet! Or space, or wherever. Yep, this could go on for a while. But TKAM and Harper Lee are the queens of all books and authors that ever existed or will ever exist.

                    😂

                    • Issabelle

Okay, TKAM can be the best book that has ever touched the planet right after The False Prince. Ain’t nothing gonna change me on that one!!!!! Hahaha, well, I don’t know about that!!! Jennifer Nielsen has got some AWESOME skill!!!!

                  • Joy Caroline

Nope, TFP can be the best book that has ever touched the planet right after To Kill a Mockingbird! (And after Marjorie Holmes’ Two from Galilee trilogy.) Nothing can ever change MY mind! Just wait until you read Harper Lee, then you’ll see what I mean. XD

But we really gotta stop now before we overrun the whole comments section with our neverending circle! 😂

                    • Issabelle

LOL!!! Well, I don’t want you to get your hopes up and all that stuff, ’cause it’s probably not gonna top TFP for me!! Sorry, girl. XD

Yeah, we should probably stop. XD

          • Joy Caroline

I know, right!? Atticus is such a cool name. If I ever have a son, I WILL name him Atticus (at least the middle name). I’m THAT obsessed with TKAM. My English teacher is equally obsessed and named her daughter Harper after the author.

YES! YOU TOTALLY NEED TO READ IT!

            • Katherine

I know, Atticus sounds so cool and unique. 🙂 Oooh, that would be cool to name a son Atticus!!! I’m planning on naming a fictional character Adacus. Haha, TKAM sounds so cool! Ooh, that is so cool that your English teacher named her daughter Harper!!! Harper is a really pretty name.

Yes, yes, yes!!! I totally need to read TKAM!!

  • Shruthika

Hieeeee!!!! I’m new to your website but it looks SOOOOO cool!!!!! The scavenger hunt sounds funnnn.

My favorite book quote: “It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends.”

-Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

    • Issabelle

  • Mary

Oh my gosh, this is SO exciting, Issabelle!!!!
Ahh, I have SO many favorite book quotes but here’s one I do like: “Take a breath, Thomas. There has always been fear. There will always be fear. It’s up to us to stand tall, even when the fear demands we bow to it.” ~Fawkes
Love the GIFs 😂 Also WHOO, I think I figured out the clue! *dances around*

    • Issabelle

WHOOOO!!!!!! *happy dance* I’m soooo happy you think so!!! I was a li’l worried what everyone would think and all. But it’s GREAT to hear that everyone sounds SUPER excited!!!! (I think those GIFs helped A LOT. XD)
Aahh, I’m the SAME WAY!! There’s just soooo many good ones out there!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I LOVE THAT QUOTE!!!! It’s one of my all-time favs from Fawkes!!! *high fives* It’s a super inspiring quote too!!!! <33 I hope you'll win something!!!
THANK YOU!!!! 🙂 WHOOOOO!!!!!!! *dances around some more* GOO MARY!!

  • Katherine

Yes, the kick off post!!!!! SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!😄 I got a kick outta reading that opening, Issabelle! It was hilarious!!!!!! 🤣 And also incredible how you wrote it!!!!! And all your gifs fit in so perfectly – I LOVE THEM!!!!!!😃

Okay, I know I’m not entering in the contest, but it looked like so much fun to say a book quote. And although I don’t have a favorite, here’s a few from some books I’ve read lately:

“It’s real gold. I am real.” ~ The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen.

“It looks like a fairy world.” ~ Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.

    and . . .

“My brothers had spent their time studying trees, but I had spent mine studying the people around me. And people were people after all, whether they lived in a forest or a castle.” ~ The Princess Companion by Melanie Cellier.

  • Ribbon Ash

I think I’ll probably fail at this. I went looking for a bit and then got confused. XD But I’m very excited for this and I’ll try my hardest to find that link.
My favourite quote is from Within These Lines by Stephanie Morrill but I don’t have the book with me (it was a library book) and I can’t remember it! *cries*
(That blog on hiatus is totally mine. XD)

    • Issabelle

Haha, nah, I think you’ll do AWESOME!!! GOOOO RIBBON ASH!!!!!! *waving pom poms* LOL!!! Well, if you need any hints or stuff, I’d totally give some. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! WHOOO!!!!! I’m sooo HAPPY!!! *dances around*

Aaah, I’ve been really wanting to read that book!!! I know it’d be really cool!!!! Haha, that’s okay!! You’re still entered into the giveaway! It’s the thought that counts. 😆 I hope you win something!
(Oh, yea, it was TOTALLY yours!!!!!! 🙂 😎👍)

      • Ribbon Ash

I finally found it after much clicking and running around the blog “I don’t remember where the things I’m looking for are!”. XD It finally clicked to me after hitting a wall. XD
I’m still really sad that I couldn’t remember cause it was a really good one! I’m sure you would have loved it!
(It really was? My mind can’t tell if you’re being serious or not.)

        • Issabelle

WHOOOOO!!!!! *high fives* *gives you cake* I told ya you could do it!!!!!! LOL!!! I’m that way ALL THE TIME!!! YAY!!!! That’s AWESOME!!!! Now you know the next blog to go to so you don’t stay trapped in the blogosphere. XD
Yeah, that is sad. 😢 I’m sure I would’ve loved it too!!!! I’d virtually give you my copy of it but I don’t think that’d help much. Maybe you could Google quotes from that book? I do that a lot!
Yeah, I’m being serious!!! I really was gonna ask you but the VERY DAY I was asking people to join was the day you posted the post where you said you were going on a hiatus and I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

          • Ribbon Ash

*takes cakes* Thanks for the confidence in me! I just did the second blog and now waiting on the third!
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t know that any of the quotes I look at are the right ones without the context. There are a lot of good quotes in that book and the person who said my quote said a few really good quotes along with that one, so I don’t know if I can find it without using the wrong one!
Oh, wow, I just missed it! I’m so sad that I did. I would just love to be part of the team for this! Maybe next time you do something like this just ask me to join anyway even if I’m on a hiatus cause as you have seen, I have broken my hiatus for my blogging duties.
(I just died laughing for a moment there when I read noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! XD XD)

            • Issabelle

WHOOOOO!!!!!! That’s AWESOME!!!! YOU. CAN. DO. IT!!! *waving pom poms*
Aaah, I see!! That’s okay!! Maybe one day it’ll just come to you!! Yeah, that book seems like it’ll have some super awesome quotes!! It’s on my TBR! I really need to get to reading it. Aahh, why is my TBR sooooo long!!!! 😂 I know some people who can read like twenty books in a month and I’m like TELL ME YOUR SECRETS!!!!!!!! XD Well, like I said, don’t worry about it!!!! (I shall live the rest of my life wondering what this quote was. XD)
I know!!! :,( Me too!! YES!!! It would’ve been AWESOME to have you and Virtual Paper along!!! Aww, man, I should’ve just asked you anyway. *slaps forehead* NEXT TIME I am TOTALLY gonna ask you even if you’re on a hiatus!!! (Yes, there will now have to be a next time ’cause your blog NEEDS a chance.) I’m SUPER SORRY!!! 😢 I really wish I had just asked ya anyway. (Haha, yes, the blogging duties always must come first. XD)
(LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I was cracking up while writing it. XDD)

              • Ribbon Ash

Yes, I can! *pumps fist* Just found the next blog for the day!
Maybe. I highly doubt it, knowing my brain. Haha, I feel you. My TBR is soooooooooo long and it keeps on growing all. of. the. time. I just added a new book today! What?! Twenty? That is amazing! I can only read 2 or 3 books a month, depending on the size and the time I give it to read it. (Oh dear, I should really find it some day and share with you! XD)
Hey, that’s ok that you didn’t ask! You didn’t know that you could. I know that a lot of people on blogging hiatuses literally leave the blogosphere and just maybe pop in to leave a comment here and there on their favourite blogs. I’ve been way more active than the normal people on hiatuses. Aww, there will be really a NEXT TIME? *gets excited*

                • Issabelle

WHOOOO!!!!! You’re on a ROLL!!!!! *gives you chocolate*
Haha, yeah, I totally feel ya on that one!!!! My brain never works right. XD IKR!!! It’s like HOW am I gonna be able to read all of these books???!!!! WOW!! I think I added like two books Monday. 😉 IKR!!! Mind blown!!! Same! If I don’t have a lot of school I can do around 2 to 4 but sometimes that gets down to just barely getting in one. 😂 (YESS!!!! You’re really gonna have to one of these days!! XD)
Yeah, but I still shoulda. Haha, yeah, I had noticed that. It’s AWESOME!!!! ‘Cause even though I’m missing your super awesome posts, we’ve still be chatting sooo it sorta makes up for it. 😂😂
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!! There WILL be a NEXT TIME!!!!!! There’s gonna have to be for all for Virtual Paper and Smoke’s sake. (Okay, I don’t know how Smoke fits into the equation only that I wanted him to. XD) *gets even more excited*

                  • Ribbon Ash

*takes chocolate* *shares it with Smoke*

Yay, I’m glad you’re not too sad of my absence in posting with me being right here, talking to you! It makes me happy to hear that this act is sort of good enough for you. XD

                    • Issabelle

*gives more chocolate to Smoke* XD

Haha, well, yeah you being here sorta makes up for it!!! <33 I really enjoying chatting with you!!! (And talking about Smoke...okay, I should maybe not be sooo obsessed but this is still me we're talking about. XD)

DOUBLE YES!! *dances around* WHOOO!!!!! YESSSS!!!!! Me too!!!! Really?? THAT WOULD BE LIKE THE MOST EPICEST THING EVER!!!!!!! Wait!! I get to make any request whatsoever??? *gets super excited* Ooooh, lemme think on this one. It's gotta be really good. 🤔 *gets REALLY excited now*

                    • Ribbon Ash

*gasps* *Smoke laughs, happily taking all of the chocolate*

Aww, yay! I enjoyed talking to you too! (Haha, your obsession makes me so happy)

Yes, any request whatsoever!!!!!!!! Take as long you need! I can’t wait for what you think up of! *gets REALLY SUPER excited*

Aww, you’re the sweetest!!!! <33 (LOL!!! Yeah, it is pretty funny! But don't tell Smoke about it 'cause he probably won't think it's cool. XD)

WHOOO!!!!! I'm gonna think really hard on this one, 'cause I want my choice to be EPIC!! And sadly cool ideas aren't coming like I wish. :,( WHOOO!!!!!! Me neither! *gets the most excited EVER!!*

  • Victoria

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOO excited about this, Issabelle!!! (Which you could probably already tell on account of the endless amount of question marks after my ‘AAAAHHHH’. It was 100 by the way. Hehehehehe, try beating that!) ;D

ANYWHO! I AM TOTALLY ENTERING!!!! Soooo here’s one of my favorite quotes from a book called Skyward by Brandon Sanderson!
“Legacy, memories of the past, can serve us well. But we cannot let them define us. When heritage becomes a box instead of an inspiration, it has gone too far.”

Also, just to make sure I’m understanding this correctly, the entries you get from commenting on each post is for the giveaway for the prizes, right? (Tell me if I’m wrong, ’cause sometimes I completely mix up instructions for things!) XD

    • Issabelle

AAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay I’m done. (Hehehe…whoa that’s a lot of exclamation marks. I think I might’ve beaten that. XD I didn’t count but it looks like more than 100!! Just saying. XD) WHOOOO!!!!!! I’m soooo glad!!!! I hope it’s gonna be lots of fun!!!! (LOL, I can TOTALLY tell your excited!!!!!!) 😀

WHOOOO!!!!!!!! I hope you win something!! 🤞 Oooh, yea, bring on the quote!!! OOoh, I’ve been actually really wanting to read Skyward. I’ve heard lots of good things about it! AAAAHHH THAT QUOTE JUST SOUNDS SOOOO AMAZING!!!!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!! <33 <33 AMAZING!!!

Yep!! The comments are extra entries into this giveaway that I'm doing!!!! *thumbs up* Now, let's get this scavenger hunt a going!!!!!

  • Trixie

Awesome idea!!! I was wondering what escaping the blogosphere meant!!! The intro was so fun!!! I don’t think I will sign up for prizes, but I will do the scavenger hunt! And no way am I passing up an opportunity to talk about books so……
I can’t seem to pick one quote. Ahhhhh!

Ok here three of my favorites:
It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live
Never underestimate the power of the page
I’ll be fighting for happy ending too

Once again, this sounds so fun!!! Eee!! I won’t sign up for the prizes but will do the scavenger hunt!

    • Issabelle

YAY THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!!!!! I’m soooo glad you think so!!!! Hahaha, yeah, when I first got the idea I had the title before the idea of how it’d work, so I was wondering what it meant too. XD 🙂 But now all is revealed!!! YAY!!! YESS!!!! I wondered who was going to like it and all!!!!! 🙂 <33 THANK YOU!!!! That's totally okay, girl!!!! But I still do hope you have lots of fun with this scavenger hunting!!!! LOL!! YES!!! NEVER pass up a chance to talk about books!!!!!!
Aaaahh, I know!! Picking just ONE quote is waaay too hard!!!!

OOOOHHHH!!!! I LOVE ALL THREE OF THEM!!!!!!! They are just sooo AMAZING!!!!! WHOOO!! THANKS for sharing!!!! <33

WHOOOO!!!! I'm soooo glad to hear you think that!!!! <33 Like I said, no worries! That's really okay!!!! Much love to you! <33

  • Alexa

Oh my goodness! This is going to be SO AMAZING! This idea is so creative and I’m sure we all can’t wait!

My favorite book quote is from The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. It reads, “Stay gold.”
If anyone has ever read this book, this scene is truly heart touching! I read this book in class and almost STARTING CRYING IN CLASS because it is so wonderful.

    • Issabelle

YAY!!! I’m soooo glad you think so!!!!!!! <33 THANK YOU!!!! WHOOOO!!!!! Then let the scavenger hunt BEGIN!!! *pumps fist in the air*

OOoo, that's SUPER COOL!!!! I've actually never read The Outsiders but I've heard that it's very heart-touching! SWEET!!!!! THANKS for entering!!! I hope you win something!!!!

  • Jen

    Eeeeeee!!!! It’s here! I’m so excited!!! ^_^

Ok, one of my fav quotes is from Samwise Gamgee: “It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end… because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing… this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something.”

Oooh! That hint is fun! I like how it’s a poem/legend type like in a fantasy novel. 😀

And virtual prizes? COUNT ME IN! ;P Those are such fun prizes!

    • Issabelle

EEEEEE!!!!!! YES!!! JEN’S HERE!!!! Welcome to the kick-off party!!! *gives you cake* YAY!!!! Me too!!! I hope it’s gonna be as fun as it sounds!!!!!

*gasp* I JUST ADORE THIS QUOTE SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! I’ve sadly not read the books but it’s my ALL TIME FAVORITE FROM THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!! Aww, now I’m getting all teary-eyed again. *sobs into tissues* *clutches heart* AWESOME QUOTE!!!!

YES!! THANK YOU!!!! *happy dance* Ooooh, I didn’t think about that at first, but it DOES kind of sound like one! That’s just EPIC!!!!!!!! 😀

YESSSSS!!!!! VIRTUAL PRIZES!!!!! WHOOOOO!!!!!!! I hope you win something!!! 🤞 Aww, THANK YOU!!!!! It took me FOREVER to think of virtual stuff that people would be interested in getting!!! <33

  • Em Elizabeth

Yay! I really love this event! It’s so creative and fun and a great interactive activity! Props to you for thinking of it and putting it together. Can’t wait to see all the places this scavenger hunt leads!
As for my favorite book quote… that’s tough. I know I have several, I just can’t think of any right off the top of my head. Dang. I’ll have to comb through my book shelf and compile a list. For now, I’ll just say that I have two favorite types of quotes: the inspirational/wise/triumphant variety, and the kind that prompt a verbal reaction, particularly laughter. (Bonus points go to outlandish quotes that physically could not exist outside the context of the story! Those are always fun.)

    • Issabelle

YAY!!! I’m sooooo glad!!!! You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to get it!!! XD THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!! I’m always trying to find ideas for stuff that’s not always done a lot. (Extra bonus if never done before!!!) Aww, THANK YOU!!!!!! Though, I should probably give a shout-out to my mom for helping me come up with some of it. I had gotten the idea but wasn’t entirely sure how it would work!!!!!! WHOOOOO!!!!!!! YESS!!!! I hope it’s gonna be EPIC!!!!!

IKR!!!! I’ve got a journal full of quotes from books that I really like. Hahah, that’s okay!!!! LOL!! Okay, that’s totally fine with me!!!! 🙂 YESS!! THOSE ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TYPES OF QUOTES!!!!!!!!!!!! (YESS!!!! I SECOND THAT!!!!) Anyway, you’re still entered in the giveaway, ’cause it’s the thought that counts in my opinion. XD I hope you win something!!!!!

  • Maya Joelle

Ooh, this is awesome! My favorite-ever book quote is this one by J.R.R. Tolkien: “The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.” There are so many others, but this one strikes me *hard* because it’s so true, so painful, so hopeful.

    • Issabelle

Ooh, THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! <33 Aww, I just ADORE THIS QUOTE!!!!!! It's AMAZING!!! Sooo true! J.R.R. Tolkien has soooo many AMAZING and heart-felt quotes!! Another good reason why I still REALLY need to read his books. *glaring at my huge TBR pile* XD THANK YOU for entering!! I hope you win something!!!! 🤞 AGREED!!!! I see why it's an all-time fav!! LOVE IT!!! 😀

  • Deami

Sounds super fun!!! (totally got me excited!)
    Okay, here’s my quote:

Tobias turned to me. “Sage, when you are king, let me be one of your servants.”

    “Be my friend instead.” -Jaron/Sage

[I’ll admit while it’s not my most favorite quote, it’s one I heard recently (and love!!) and there seem to be many tolkien quotes already 😉 <3]

Also, I must say I find all of your gifs quite hilarious XD

    • Issabelle

Hello, Deami!!! Long time no chat amiright!!! WHOOOOO!!!!!! YESSS!!!! I’m SUPER glad you think so!!!!!! *high fives* (Aww, really??? YESSS!!!!!! Best. Day. EVER!)

YESSS!!!!!! FINALLY someone picked a quote from the Ascendance Series!!! I was waiting for this!!! *happy dance* Anyway, I just LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVVEEE THIS QUOTE!!!!! EEEEeee!!!!! <33 😍 TOBIAS!!!! He's one of my FAV characters! *clutches heart* (Haha, that's TOTALLY okay!!! THANKS for entering, I hope you win something!! 🤞 Haha, yea, I noticed the large number of Tolkien quotes! Those books seem to be filled with super great quotes!!! I REALLY need to read them. <33)

Aww, THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I LOVE 'em GIFs!!!!! 😂

      • Deami

Long time indeed! (I’ve been crazy busy with a speech and debate competition…lots of fun but lots of work XD)

*high fives back* (Yes really!! <3)

Yesss! Although I probably relate to Roden more, I do really appreciate Tobias' character, and this quote is such a simple yet awesome mindset. 😀

(Lol, I hope so too! The prizes sound really cool 😀 and even if I don't, I love this idea!)

Oooo have you never read the Lord of the Rings? (It is SO worth reading! I'll admit, the books can have some longggger parts…especially toward the beginning…but the heart of the story is so noble, epic, and inspiring!! I had an advantage because my dad read them to me when I was six, and he tended to skip over some of the long exposition and poem/songs (which is a very helpful strategy that I sometimes still do if it feels a little long. It gets you to the good stuff without really missing anything.) I have a feeling you might really enjoy them <3)
        Have you seen the movies?

        • Issabelle

YES!!! (Ooooh, cool!!! Speech and debate always seemed like something that’d be really cool to try out!!! LOL!! Aah, yes, I believe it! <33)

          WHOOOO!!!!!! <33

Yeah, I think I relate more to Roden as well. But I do LOVE Tobias!!!!! 🙂 YES!!! I LOVE that quote so much for those very reasons!!!!

(Aww, really? That's AWESOME!!! It took me FOREVER to think of some prizes that I thought people would wanna win. YAY!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! Though, I'm still crossing my fingers REALLY hard for you!!!)

NOOO!!! And it's been horrible!!!! I've moved my TBR list around sooo maybe, hopefully, I can get to it by March. *crossing fingers* YES!!! I thought it sounded like something I REALLY need to try out!! I figured, since it was written like a hundred or so years back it would be that way. Ooooh, that's Soooo cool your dad read them to you!! I bet it made the story more fun that way!!!!! LOL that is something I have also been known to do when something goes a little long in a story. XD It seems like a very useful strategy. XD YESSSS!!!!! WHOOOO!!!!!! I think I'm gonna really enjoy them too!!! <33 And if I do, I shall proceed to fangirl about it without end. XD
YES!!! I went through all three back in September and am in DESPERATE need to go through it again!!!!! I'm working my way, 'cause I'm in the middle of the Hobbit movies and then I'm off to Lord of the Rings. Second round!!! I LOVE THOSE MOVIES!!!! <33

          • Deami

Oh yes, the books are amazing!! (Looking forward to you getting a chance to read-AND LOVE- them!)
My dad loves the books and is a phenomenal story teller, so yeah, definitely made it twice as interesting 😀
Personally I think you might enjoy them more, having watched the – epitome of perfect!! – movies already, 😉
(That’s what I found while reading the Hunger games which also have very well told movie versions since it’s easier to picture the scenes being told…while still open to imagination <3)
I've been in the mood to go on a lotr marathon myself 😉
(They are SO SO good!!!! 😀 )

            • Issabelle

AWESOME!!!!! (YES!! I’m really looking forward to that as well!!!!!! WHOO!! TOTALLY expecting to love it!!)
Aww, that’s SUPER COOL!!!!!! My dad isn’t really a reader. I’ve been trying to convince him to read The False Prince…it’s not working as I’d like. XD I just don’t understand people who don’t like reading!!
WHOO!!!! YESS!!! I was hoping having some back knowledge from the movies would make it even more awesome!!!!! Ooh, now this is making me wanna read it EVEN MORE!!!
              (Aaah, that’s cool!!!! <33)
YESS!!! Aaah, now I think I'm gonna try to get to it sooner than I planned!!! 😀 I'm sooo excited to read them!

  • Gemma

Hi! So my cousin totally redirected me to this page and I love it. I’ll check out more of your posts. And by the way this sounds awesome!
So here’s my favorite quote ever:

“Are you throwing shoes at me?” said Keefe, sliding open the window.
“Seemed like a good idea. Now I don’t have to wear them.” -Sophie

These guys from Keeper of the Lost Cities are awesome. This quote is from Neverseen Book 4 by Shannon Messenger. Keefe is the best character in that series in my opinion and my favorite character outside of my own writing.
It’s so hard to choose though but also Tolkien’s up there too.

    • Issabelle

Heeeellloooo, Gemma (LOVE your name!!! I think I actually created a character in one of my books once with that name!!! <33)!!!! Maybe next time I do a giveaway, we should say fav quotes from the stories we're writing!! THANK YOU for reading and commenting!!! <33

      • Gemma

Thank you! *High fives you back* I LOVE cake. 🙂
Keeper is awesome, my cousin Mary dragged me into it and I’ve been fangirling with her at every opportunity. It is well worth the read and the painful cliffhangers lol 🙂
That would be SUPER FUN! I would really enjoy that. It’s nice to actually meet a ton of other authors. I don’t know many people who are as enthusiastic to write as I am so it’s amazing to see people talking about it all the time. 🙂

        • Issabelle

You’re welcome!! WHOO!!! YESS!!! You can NEVER go wrong with cake!!
LOL!!! That’s SoOOOO cool!!!! I hear soo much great talk about Keeper that I’m soooo sure I’m gonna love it!!! I’ve got a lot of peeps telling me I need to read it!! AWESOME!!! I’m TOTALLY gonna be putting that book very high on my TBR!!! (And then I’ll probably fangirl over it without end, ’cause I’m just that kind of gal. XD)

It’s sooo great to be able to talk with peeps who totally get this writing stuff!!! TOTALLY agree with you on that one!!!! 🙂

  • Rayna

Oh, the idea is so cool! I’m not totally sure I understand, but uh, here’s my favorite quote:
(I actually have like 3000 so here’s a random one I picked from my library)
“It’s time to listen to your girl. No arguing—she’s smarter than you.”
    – KOTLC

Am I entered? Sorry, I have no idea about this stuff 😂

    • Issabelle

Awww, THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH, Rayna!!! (That’s a super pretty name, BTW!) LOL!! I actually have hundreds of quotes that I love, so I totally feel ya there, girl!!!! OOooooh, that quote is EPIC!!!! Aaah, I have soooo got to read KOTLC!!

      • Jane

It would be so much fun if you made this an annual thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have loved participating in the scavenger hunt!!!! I’m having a blast!!!! (does anyone still say that? I’m so disconnected when it comes to trends XD)
Thank you!!!!!!! I have passed the clue sooooo many times on the other blogs and had to go back to find it. XD

        • Issabelle

YESSS!!!!!!!!!! Then I’m putting it down in the books to remember to do again!!! Aww, I’m just SOOO GLAD!!!!! WHOO!!! I’m having a SUPER AWESOME time hosting this myself!! Can you believe it’s already been four days?? It doesn’t feel that long. (Haha, I don’t know. I still do, but I’m also super disconnected with society. XD)
You’re welcome!! LOL!!! I guess I had an advantage ’cause I’ve been following a lot of those blogs a while and knew EXACTLY of the post they were talking about. XD 😆 But you’re still doing the GREATEST!!!!! I LOVE your dedication to visit all of the blogs!!!

  • Jen

Hey Issabelle! I didn’t know where else to comment this because it’s so completely random but I just had to tell you. You know how on receipts they’ll have the name of the manager or your checkout clerk? Well today I got… *pauses dramatically* Calvin Taylor! The Sheriff of Nottingham was working at the store I went to! XDDD I know this is weird and random but I thought it was cool and funny and thought you’d like to know. 😀

    • Issabelle

Hey, Jen, first off I was LAUGHING OUT LOUD while reading your comment. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m soooo glad you told me about this!!! That is like SUPER COOL!!!! Like I seriously wished I had been there. I had a thousand things I probably would’ve said. 😆😆🤣🤣 Like when did the Sheriff of Nottingham get a career change?? LOL!!! Haha, this has literally made my entire day!! THANKS!!! Soooo…did you not tell Calvin Taylor that Issabelle said hi? XD (Okay, I’m joking around about that. XD) No, it’s not weird and random it’s actually REALLY cool and funny!!!! XD

    • Issabelle

Nope, the next post was supposed to happen today (cause there was a two day gap) and I’m working on figuring some stuff out. Sorry about that. I might just end up posting the next clue on TWN.
