Know the Novel: Within the WIP: Hosted by Christine Smith

What’s up, Mondayers!!!! Man, I wish WordPress would stop telling my made up words are spelled wrong. It TOTALLY ruins the fun in it. *pouting in the corner like a two-year-old* Anyway, I’m here with PART TWO in blogger, Christine Smith’s Know the Novel series. It’s all about getting to know what’s up with my WIP, which is a YA contemporary retelling of Aladdin!!!! If you missed part one, you don’t wanna miss it. And if you wanna do this on your own blog or social media (if you’re nothing like me and ACTUALLY HAVE social media, that is) check out her awesome post on it here.

I’m gonna act like I meant for the picture to be that big.

Anyway……….onto the QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

*what is it with that 1 always throwing off my exclamation points grove*

Oh well, you’re probably tired of that anyway. Let’s just skip the rest of the intro. *yelling to my director* “Cue the questions!”

1. How’s the writing going overall?

So, actually pretty good. I’m covering a ton of ground in my WIP, INTO THE LAMP. I’m looking to be ready to start submitting to literary agents soon. (But you can read all about that on my previous post.) I should say, I don’t really follow the writing style as most people. My first drafts are actually VERY neat, and most of it sticks around into my second draft. So, I write pretty fast. (A blessing really.) But…yeah. That’s kind of where I’m at.

2. What’s been the most fun aspect about writing this novel so far?

That for once, I’m actually HAVING FUN. I looooooove my characters a ton. They’re sooooo amazing. And I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback. I really think Genie being a “girly-girl” is the most fun, because she was just so unique and different. And fun….like, really, really fun.  *I am so bad at answering these questions*

3. What do you think of your characters at this point? Who’s your favorite to write about?

jkdkdkd ahhh, I have no idea what just happened to my formatting. Oh, WordPress, are you doomed to destroy me?

Well, I’m gonna have to go for this until I figure it out. Maybe when I published it, it’ll fix itself to normal.

So, far Colin, my MC, I just looooooove him. A ton. I mean, occasionally he bugs me but we work it out in the end. Don’t we, Colin! *okay, he’s probably groaning at this point* And yes, I just had some weird conversation with my MC. Don’t judge me. 😉 My favorite character to write about is Genie or Colin. I’m sorry guys, I just can’t pick. They are so lovable I mean listen to this:

The girl straightened her back and declared, “I am the genie of the lamp. Here to grant you three wishes.” She narrowed her eyes, her smile slipping away. “And only three. No exceptions.”

I backed away a few steps. “Impossible. A genie, really?” A tense laugh slid off my lips. “You really expect me to believe that? I’ve lost my mind! Genies, magic, lamps with girls hiding inside, none of that is possible. No, I won’t believe it. I won’t!”

The girl sighed, shaking her head back and forth. “Humans are so narrow-minded.” She clicked her tongue, then giggled. Her eyes danced with joy. “Anyway, I don’t care if you believe me or not. I’m just glad to be out of that lamp.” She stretched her arms, still grinning like she was trapped in some endless joke. “It’s nice to feel the sun and breathe fresh air.” She took a dramatic breath, then, she looked around. “Or, not. Hey, shocked boy, when are we getting out of this cave?”

Wait, I fixed the formatting! *giving myself a high-five!*

4. Has your novel surprised you in any way?

Oh, yeah. I think in the end, I’m gonna be super mean to Colin, ’cause when I’m writing I’ll be like oh, or I could make this super bad and possibly life-threatening scene that Colin can’t escape from happen. And then Colin ends up stuck in some trap and Genie has to save him, ’cause you know, she’s got magic and all. But she’s not always there and, yeah, it doesn’t look very good for him. (Now you see what Colin and I fight over. Just kidding actually. There’s no fighting. *wiggling eyebrows and holding up pencil* Colin can’t stop me from ruining his life.)

5. Have you come across any problem areas?

Yeah, my ending has had to been reworked. The stakes weren’t high enough. But now, I have it all planned out to end up in this moment where everyone’s like there’s NO WAY Colin’s gonna make it through this one. Because I’m serious EVERYTHING falls apart. But I won’t say anymore.

6. What’s been your biggest victory with writing this novel at this point?

I think every single person who’s read my story and said they really liked it. And all of you who commented on my last Know the Novel post, Christine and all of you are sooo encouraging. It really made me even more eager to get this thing published. So THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH. I don’t think those words are big enough, though, for all my gratitude, but it’s the best I’ve got.

7. If you were transported into your novel and became any one of the characters, which one do you think you’d be? Would you take any different actions than they have?

Oh, I’d be…oh, I really wanna say Genie, but I’ll be a little more creative. How about Chessna! She’s this really sweet genie who’s like soooo loyal to all of her friends. I think she adds more strength to the story than most people realize. If I was her, though, I’d have to do some serious changes to the story. Oh, yeah, I’m talking about using my knowledge of what’s gonna happen next to save the day. But if I was Genie, I’d still really take some different actions and like not put myself in this moment where everyone thinks she’s gonna die and all. I’d find a way to avoid that.

8. Give us the first sentence or paragraph then 2 (or 3!) more favorite snippets!

Yeah, this is my favorite question!

Opening paragraphs:

The same man had sat at the exact same table for the past week.

And all he ordered was coffee. What person thinks the coffee at a burger place is any good? Well, my aunt’s coffee isn’t any good. Believe me, I’ve tried it.

Shudders always crept up and down my back whenever I took his exact same order. For a whole week.

But on this particular day, I ran into more than I bargained for….

And some other great moments:

Delbert was not on any map. The town sprung up out of nowhere about two hundred years ago by a group of people who wanted to hide from the world. No one knew their reasons. Only that a town started and remained unheard of by the rest of America. Now, we’re lumped into a city near us, but we have kept ourselves a little secluded. It’s not like no one leaves. More that no one comes. Which was why when I first moved in, the whole town heard about it, knew about it.

And since then, it became my goal to be as unseen as Delbert.

By middle school, I realized my dream would be easy to accomplish. Just every now and then, someone did notice me, though it never ended very well.

******************************

“What have you done?” Honestly, if I had to ask another question today, I think I would shout. My voice edged its way there.

“I made it more me. This room was so dull before.” Genie smirked, but I wouldn’t let this one slide. I took a second look at the hot pink walls – replacing the light tan-colored ones.

“Change. It. Back,” I growled.

She made this big show of thinking it over, changing her facial expressions more times than I could count. “No.” Genie planted her feet and crossed her arms. How did you handle girls like her? Rora had her stubborn moments, but not like this.

“Now. This is my room.”

“Actually, it’s mine now. I’m not going back in that lamp again. And you can’t make me.”

Come on! I slapped my forehead. This was just how I wanted my day to end – girl drama. “Well, where am I going to sleep?”

Genie shrugged. “You’ll find a place. Now, go. A girl needs her space.”

9. Share an interesting tidbit about the writing process so far! (For example: Have you made any hilarious typos? Derailed from your outline? Killed off a character? Changed projects entirely? Anything you want to share!)

Um…I don’t honestly know. Let me think on this one. I think I changed Chessna’s character personality around a few times. Sadly, I don’t have hilarious situations I’ve been in. Writing, for the most part, runs smoothly for me. Oh wait! I know something. So, Chessna’s name at first was spelled with one “s,” but obviously when I continued writing her name, I forgot so it switched. And the same was true for the antagonist, Dolf, I started putting an “a” in it and when I worked on my second draft, I noticed in the beginning it was spelled with an “o”. Though, I’m keeping his with the “o”. Yep, that’s the best I have for you guys.

10. Take us on a tour of what a normal writing day for this novel looks like. Where do you write? What time of day? Alone or with others? Is a lot of coffee (or some other drink) consumed? Do you light candles? Play music? Get distracted by social media (*cough, cough*)? Tell all!

So, I try in the evenings like 5 o’clock to sit down and write, you know after school and stuff is taken care of. I normally sit at the table in our dining room. Alone, because that’s how I think the best. I sometimes turn on this Christian radio station near me or I’ll listen to playlists of Danny Gokey, Tenth Avenue North, and when I feel super adventurous TobyMac. But sometimes I forget until I’m too immersed to pause and turn it on. I always try to say a prayer to God asking him for inspiration before writing.

If I’m typing on a document online then sometimes I procrastinate to look at other blogs. Most likely, I’ve comment on some of you guys websites when I was in the middle of writing and chose to procrastinate. Oh and anytime I get a notification that someone has commented on my site, I’ll be like oh, I should moderate that and reply, I’ve already written a ton (like one sentence), I deserve a break. (So, like seriously, send a bunch of comments, so I’ll have a ton of reasons not to write. I’m serious, it’s the perfect distraction.) Oh, I also like to have a cup of sweet tea when I write, because it kind of relaxes me. And if we don’t have tea, I go for a cup of lemonade.

Thank you guys for reading today’s post. Please tell me in the comments what you think.

So, what music do you like to listen to when writing?

Are you doing NaNo (I’m not, before you ask)?

If so, how’s things going?

Let me know in the comments, I can’t wait to hear from all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll catch you guys later. Keep Writing!

AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! I LOVED THOSE SNIPPITS!!! I actually snort laughed when Genie changed his room to pink!!! Oh my goodness! Too funny!

All your answers were fantastic! And, awww! I’m so happy all the comments were such an encouragement! ^_^

I listen to a variety of songs and instrumentals while I write, my WIP playlist is currently made up of songs from Live Action Aladdin, Casting Crowns, Ginny Owens, Lord of the Rings, Frozen 1 & 2 and Tangled. I also like turning to my local Christian radio while I write!

I’m sort of doing NaNo, I’m not doing the site but I am trying to get at least 50,000 words written and I’m hoping to finish my first draft by the end of the month. So far I’ve written 5,000 words.

Best of luck on your story!

(Also, how can I follow this blog? I tried looking around for a button or something but couldn’t find one.)

    • Maggie

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I’m soooo happy you loved them!!!! And, yes, I remember screaming and happy dancing when I read each of the comments on that post. First because they were like the first comments my blog even got, second because they were filled with soooo much encouragement.

Oooh, that sounds like an AWESOME playlist!!! You know, I should start listening to the Live Action Aladdin album and Lord of the Rings one when I write. They had some great instrumental music. And I’ve always looooooved Casting Crowns.

Ha, that’s kind of me at the moment. I want to make it to about 60 thousand words in the second draft of my WIP, and I’m at about 25-30 thousand. It’s not exactly fifty thousand words, but it’s still a lot for me. Good luck with your writing! And THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for your comment. I LOVED READING IT!!!!!!!

So, first someone actually wanting to follow my blog is just AWESOME!!!! Excuse me while I go scream.
Okay, I’m back now. Sadly, I don’t actually have a way you can follow this blog. I have thought about maybe sometime in the way out there future doing a newsletter (and by newsletter, I mean just a notification of a new post), I’m still trying to figure out how to do that. For now, I just try to tell readers plans of upcoming posts. Sorry, I really wished I had a different answer. But thank you for asking! You know, let me look into that. Maybe I can figure something out.

      • Jen

Aww! I was the same way with my comments too! I’m a relatively new blogger so I’m still ecstatic over any and every comment. 😀

^_^ Thanks! Speechless is my favourite song on the soundtrack. Ooh, yeah, the Aladdin music would go well with your story, wouldn’t it? Cool! 😉 I grew up a Southern Gospel girl but now that I’m older I’m finding I’m also loving the music by Jeremy Camp, Hillsong and others, but The Crabb Family and the like will always be dear to my heart. ^_^

Awesome! I’m positive that you’ll make your goal! *cheers and waves pom poms*

Thanks! My total word count reached 7,000 today so I think I’m on a decent pace! ^_^

Aww! I loved reading your post and your reply! <3

Oh, ok. 😉 No worries, you'll figure something out when you're ready! I'll just pop back in every so often because I missed a few posts without realizing it. But whenever you do get something set up, I'll be sure to be one of the first to sign up! 😀 *scurries off to get caught up on posts*

        • Maggie

New bloggers rule!!! *pumps fist in the air*

Speechless is sooooo amzing. Yeah, the Aladdin music would be like perfect for me. I’ve listened to some Southern Gospel before, ’cause my dad really likes it and all, so that’s really cool!!! Jeremy Camp is another favorite of mine and Hillsong is also a super talented group (though, they’re always changing their names, and I’m starting to get confused what they’re now called). I really feel like I’ve heard of The Crabb Family before. *off to go Google it*

Thank you. Good luck with your writing. 50,000 is a lot, but I know you’ll make it. If you get super stressed with writing and wanna chill, totally say so in the comments, and I’ll try my best to be extra funny. (‘Cause laughing always calms me down. But that might just be with me. I dunno, I’m just strange.) 7,000, WHOOOOO!!!! Keep going, Girl!! Aww, thank you!!!!! <3

Actually, I'm going to sit down with Alana and Katherine here @ Teen Writers' Nook, and talk about getting a way to subscribe to the blog set up. 'Cause like I already had a writing friend telling me I need to do this, and someone today actually said they were looking for a way to subscribe but couldn't find one. So, I need to do that. 😆 Oh, if you're reading any old post, please drop something in the comments. If you're anything like me I always get a little nervous commenting on old post, 'cause I feel late, but I LOVE comments on EACH and EVERY post, so don't hesitate if you wanna comment.

          • Jen

            Eeeep! Thanks! <3

That's cool your dad likes Southern Gospel too! Ooh, I didn't know Hillsong changed their name, lol, I don't tend to keep up with names and trends too well. XD

Aww! Thanks so much!!! Hehe, laughing chills me out too, so I'll definitely remember your sweet offer if I do get overwhelmed. ^_^ .>)

I hope your progress on your goal is going great!!! ^_^

            • Maggie

Haha, yeah they change it a lot. (I think it might be every time they get or lose people in the group, but I’m not certain, so don’t hold me to it.) Your welcome!!!

              It’s er going. I kind of have this major problem known to most people as procrastination. I call it having a keen eye for finding more exciting things to do. ;

              • Jen

Aw phooie, I think some of my comment got eaten by the internet… that’s why there’s that weird symbol thing at the end of my third paragraph. Okay, the jist of it was,

Cool! I look forward to when I can subscribe!!! And of course! I sometimes feel the same way when commenting on other blogger’s posts, so thanks for letting me know! I l also love it when I get comments on older posts, so I understand. ^_^ (It’s been a super busy day so I haven’t been able to do any blog reading yet… >.>)

Oh, that makes sense about Hillsong, or whatever their name is now. 😉

Hehe! I know the feeling, girl! And sometimes that more exciting thing comes in book form! I currently have like 12 of those. (My library books that were on hold all came in at once… XD) I’m sure you’ll get back in the groove soon! 😀

                • Maggie

                  Haha, no problem!

Your absolutely welcome. There’s something so exciting when you read a comment on an old post, no idea why. (I’m sooo getting the super busy. I feel like I’m more swamped this month than last month.) I think Hillsong might be Hillsong United now, or maybe they changed it again. Who knows! Oh, yes, books. They are super distracting. Wow, 12, that’s a lot. They just call you, don’t they. I normally tell myself, reading IS actually helping your writing, so you gotta make time to do it. (And we’re talking like HOURS of time. hehe.) Yes, I need to get back in the groove soon….

                  • Jen

I agree! Comments are just so exciting no matter how old the post! ^_^

Yes! Books seem to beg me to take them home. XD Reading DOES help with writing. It refuels creativity and also teaches how to do the actual writing through osmosis. 🙂 So, it’s a nice excuse, erm, REASON to spend all day reading. ;P

                  • Ribbon Ash

I hope you don’t mind me jumping in here!
I am really certain that Hillsong hasn’t change their name at all. It is just that they have more than one group of Hillsong now. Since I listen to their music a lot, I know that there is a Hillsong Worship (which I believe is the original), Hillsong United and Hillsong Young & Free at the same time. All three groups still release music. And I have listened to all three too.

                    • Maggie

                      Aaaahh, of course not!
Oh, that’s good to know and makes a lot of sense. So three Hillsong bands, ya say? How did I not pick up on that before?! Oh, well, thank you for letting me know, Ribbon Ash!!!

  • Victoria

Hey, Maggie! After seeing your reply to my comment over at Christine’s, I thought I’d drop by and check out your corner of the internet. This is such a cool blog and I’ll definitely have to keep up with it! I can’t wait to explore around a little more!

*Gasps* THIS STORY IS AWESOME!!!! Your whole take on Aladdin is so brilliant and unique! I read the first chapter of it in the critique corner and I. NEED. MORE. I’m soooo excited to see where you take this and I hope you’ll share some more of it!!!

I don’t write as much as I’d like to (school can be suuuper time consuming), but I LOVE all those music artists you mentioned (especially Danny Gokey and TobyMac)!

Best wishes on your story and I’ll be praying for God to give you the right words you need too!

    • Maggie

Hey, Victoria!!!! I’m sooooo glad you checked out my site. I do hope you’ll stick around! Aw, thanks. I’m glad you think it’s cool. And in your exploring, I want to go ahead and say, that I LOVE getting comments even on old posts. Sometimes when I check out blogs, I hesitate to comment on old posts, ’cause they’re old and the blogger might not care. But I am NOT THAT WAY. So, if you wanna comment, please do.

*double gasp* You think it’s awesome?! Aw, that mean A LOT!!!! Maybe I’ll share a little more of it, sometime……

Yeah, school can be soooooo consuming. Danny Gokey and TobyMac are incredible, aren’t they? Do you have any personal favorites from them? Thank you sooo much and thanks for commenting! And, yes, I definitely appreciate the prayers. God’s the only one keeping my head above water right now. Thank you again!

      • Victoria

Wow, thanks for letting me know! I often think that too, so I usually just comment on new posts. But your offer makes me feel sooo much better and I will definitely keep that in mind! 😀

Oh goodness, where to begin. 😉 Let’s see…of Danny Gokey’s songs, some of my favorites have to be Wanted, Haven’t Seen it Yet, Masterpiece, If You Ain’t in It, and The Comeback. Of TobyMac, I love The Elements album (especially Edge of My Seat), Love Broke Thru, Backseat Driver, Undeniable, and Me Without You. But those are just a few examples. I love a LOT more! 🙂 How about you?

        • Maggie

Yes, definitely keep it in mind!!! Let me see…. *hmmm* I LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE of those Danny Gokey songs. If You Ain’t In It has such an awesome beat. Ooh, The Comeback does, too. I also like More Than You Think I Am. My fav album of TobyMac’s would be This is Not a Test (The Elements would definitely come second, though). I love TobyMac’s version of Edge of My Seat with Cochren and Co. Undeniable has always been one of my favorites!!! I think the message is soooo powerful. And then there’s Till the Day I Die and This is Not a Test, and his new one I’m Sorry. That one really tugs at my heart.

  • Katherine

AMAZING!!! I thought you having a conversation with your MC, Colin, was hilarious. Personally, I don’t listen to music when I write because I like to have peace and quiet, but I thought your song choices were great. I love Christian music. Good luck with the rest of your writing and submitting to agents.

    • Maggie

THANKs a bunch, Katherine!!!!! Awww you’re super sweet. Sometimes I like a little peace and quiet as well, just depends on what’s going on. (In the book, not around me. THAT don’t really affect my writing much.) Thank you again. Good luck with your writing as well.

  • Jane

I want to know more!! I read your first chapter on the other post, than read it again, It was so good! And when I read all the snippets, I was on the verge of laughing when she made his room hot pink.

I love the songs that everyone put in the comments. I cant listen to music when I write because I’ll fade in to the song and forget that I’m supposed to be writing, but I get a lot of inspiration from music.
It’s great that your writing is going well! If I was an agent I’d put your book through (or what ever the right wording is for that)
    Good luck with your writing!!

    • Maggie

Yay!!!! I’m SOOOOO HAPPY!!! It gives me more belief that maybe it’s half decent enough to get published one of these days. I might share some more snippets, if that’s what everyone wants to see.

Oh, yeah, Katherine’s the same way. For me, I normally end up tuning it out when I start writing. But it’s easy for me to tune things out when I’m focusing on something else. (I know most of you guys aren’t gonna get this, but I know see where Colin gets it from ’cause he’s the same way.)

Aww, that just made my day. Hopefully more agents will feel that way this second time I send through. I’ll keep you updated what’s happening when I start sending again, if you’d like.
Good luck with your writing too!!!! And THANK YOU, Jane. (For commenting, for your kind words and for being soo awesome!!!!)

  • Christine Smith

OH MY GOODNESS COLIN AND GENIE ARE SO CUTE. Those SNIPPETS. I’m just over here grinning and giggling to myself. I especially loved the pink room scenario. HA! Too perfect! XDD

I’m so glad you’re having fun with this one! And I can see why! It looks like such a blast to write. That’s always such a joy finding a story we really truly LOVE to write. I’m so happy for you. ^_^

This was such a treat getting a little peek into how things are going! Thank you so much for joining the linkup again! I do hope writing the rest of this proves to be even MORE fun! YOU GOT THIS!!! *waves pompoms*

    • Maggie

YAAAYY, I’m SOOOOOO GLAD YOU ENJOYED THEM!!!!!!!! YES, the pink room scene was just sooo perfect.

THANK YOU!!!! It really is a prize when we find joy in what we’re writing. This link-up is sooo much fun, I can’t wait for December’s!!! And thanks soooo much. It really means a lot. YOU’VE GOT THIS, TOO!!!!!! I hope writing goes well!

  • Ally M.J.

The SNIPPETS. The HILARITY. I LOVE IT ALL.
Sorry for the late comment, but I HAD to say something, because this is amazing. Like, at the snippets, I actually might have almost choked on water. It was totally worth it, though. I would keep gushing, but then I would never stop, because this was absolutely incredible.
I sometimes talk to my characters, too! My MC, Seren, really doesn’t like to listen to me, and then I start yelling at her. My family thinks I’m nuts. 😆
Danny Gokey and TobyMac are basically my childhood. One of my favorite memories as a kid was me belting out City on Our Knees into a ladle in my kitchen. No judging, please. I was like three. 😊 My favorite Danny Gokey song is either Haven’t Seen It Yet or Ama A Dios Y A Tu Vecino. My favorite Christian song of all time is Tell The World by Lecrae, ft. Mali Music. It’s old, but I still love it. Lecrae is one of my favorite artists. I even made my other MC, Easton’s last name Lekray.
I don’t know why I told you that.

    • Maggie

      YES, I’M SOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!
Ah, don’t apologize! I just LOVE comments, I don’t care how late. I’m actually REALLY glad you did comment!!!!! Oh, no, I didn’t expect things to get life threatening. 😉 THIS COMMENT IS JUST MAKING ME LIKE SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU sooooooo much!!!
OH, yes, talking to our characters totally RULE! Haha, Seren sounds like such a fun character, though. Colin and me sometimes get at it, but I’m always like I created you, and you have to do what I say. (My family thinks I’m pretty crazy, too!)
LOL, Danny and Toby are like THE BEST!!!! Absolutely, no judging going on. I’m always bursting into song, it doesn’t matter where I am. (And I’m even talking about in public a few times.) Oh, I LOVE both of those songs. Well, at least, I’m pretty sure the second song is the one I’m thinking of…. Oh, I’ve heard of Lecrae. Off to go check out the song. Have you heard Ready or Not by Britt Nichole? He’s featured in it, I think. It’s one of my favorite songs. Easton Lekray, that sounds like a REALLY COOL name!!!

  • Ribbon Ash

It took me forever to go read this and reply.
That is so awesome that you can write fast and neatly. I wish I could. My writing life would be much easier.
I love all of the snippets. So clever and funny. And for some reason I was thinking how if my protagonist was in the situation of the pink room… well, Genie might be physically threatened to change the room back. My boy won’t back down until he gets what he wants. He is very stubborn and determined. I wonder who will win? Or would it be a tie? #randomthoughts
This whole post was so fun to read. The humour in it was gold, and I enjoyed it so much. Getting to hear about your story again (new details, yay!) was a treat! I can’t wait for the third part!

    • Maggie

      No worries!!!!
Yes, it is a blessing really. Ah, I imagine so.
THANK YOU!!!!! Haha, if we’re talking about Smoke, then I’m gonna have to agree with you. Genie’s like the same way on not backing down. And she’s got some serious stubbornness, too. YES!! Who will win??!! It might be a tie, ’cause Smoke’s a cyborg and I’d imagine that’d be hard to beat, but then again Genie’s got MAGIC!!!! You know, that would be kind of fun to see. XD.
YAY!!! I’m just so, so, so happy you enjoyed my post!!! 😃 Aw thanks a bunch!! YES PART THREE!!!! Oh, and are you gonna do part two on your blog, ’cause I’ve been constantly checking your site. AND I DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN WAIT TO HEAR MORE ABOUT YOUR NOVEL. Ahem, excuse the random outburst. 😉

      • Ribbon Ash

Yes, I am talking about Smoke. And, yeah, I did the impression that Genie was pretty stubborn and wouldn’t back down easily either. They might be fighting each other about the pink room for a long time. XD It will probably a tie, since she does have magic, getting her a significant advantage, but then as a cyborg he does learn fast and he wouldn’t let something that he doesn’t understand get the better of him so….
Aww, thank you for showing such interest and excitement for my story! And, yes, I am, I’m just waiting until the end of the month so that I have a bunch of stuff to tell! (And I won’t excuse the random outburst cause it makes me smile so much).

        • Maggie

Oh, yeah, they’d be fighting for a lloooooooonnnngggg time. Yes, GENIE WOULD NEVER BACK DOWN AND NEITHER WOULD SMOKE AND IT WOULD BE SO, SO, SO INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT EACH WOULD DO. And then maybe in the end, they would respect each other a little more. ‘Cause that’s normally what happens after a long fight.
You’re are so, so welcome!!! Ah, that makes sense. I CAN’T WAIT TO READ IT!!!!

          • Ribbon Ash

Haha, probably for YEARS. YES, IT WOULD BE SO INTERESTING AND I AM NOW SO CURIOUS TO SEE THIS. And, yes, I think that they might respect each other in the end. If he isn’t just plain mad at them at the time, he does respect the person in some way. Like his girlfriend. XD He 100% respects her but she fights him a lot on a bunch of things which is annoying to him. XD XD

            • Maggie

Oh, yes YEARS. ACTUALLY NOW I’M REALLY WANTING TO SEE THIS, TOO. Oh, yeah, he might be a little mad at the end. But, I mean, Genie’s that kind of person who will almost MAKE you respect her. (And she’s got her ways of making it happen…) Haha. I DIDN’T KNOW SMOKE HAD A GIRLFRIEND. Excuse me while I process this new turn of events. XD

              • Ribbon Ash

Haha, I keep on forgetting to check back here!
AHH, I WANT TO SEE IT SO BAD NOW!
Don’t worry, he will be so mad at her. And I like to think that he will make HER respect HIM. He is very a resistant type of person so not getting his way will make him so stubborn and annoying (so if she tries any of “her ways”, it will probably turn out bad).
Oh, yes, he does. Like FOREVER. I cannot imagine him without her. (Also if he does somehow start losing against Genie, she will take pick up the fight and help him win. XD)

                • Maggie

That’s totally okay!! If you haven’t seen one of my latest posts, though, I mentioned your blog in it. I hope that’s okay.
AAAHHHH I WANT TO SEE IT SO BAD NOW, TOO!!! WHAT’RE WE GOING TO DO??!! It would be sooooo cool!!!
Haha, actually as I’m reading this comment and you said that he will make her respect him, I was thinking it reverse in my brain, ’cause that’s EXACTLY what Genie would do. (Normally, when she tries ‘her ways’ they don’t end up very well anyway, so I have no doubt about that.) Although, Genie’s a fighter, and if she thinks she’s going to lose, she has an army of genies who’ll come to help her. (Wait! Is his girlfriend also a cyborg? I don’t think you ever mentioned that. But you might have and my brain just can’t remember.)

                  • Ribbon Ash

I haven’t check any other posts on here yet! You did? What is the post called? And I don’t mind at all! I am honoured that you mentioned me!
AHHHHH, I DON’T KNOW. Except for maybe considering it HAPPENING. That way our brains will leave us alone about for a while. Yes, IT WOULD BE SO COOL. Haha, these characters are so going to have problems! (“You should respect me.” “No, you should.” “NO, YOU SHOULD.”) Well, it is reassuring to know that “her ways” won’t work. *passes on the information to Smoke*. *Cough* You did not see that.
Oooh, an army of genies? Hmmm, I think he could convinced, as a natural-born leader that he is, an army of cyborgs to help him. (And, yes, she is a cyborg. And I haven’t mentioned that actually. I haven’t mentioned anyone is a cyborg except for Smoke and maybe Kayo? I don’t quite remember.)

                    • Maggie

It’s called “Top Ten Blogging Sites that You Need to Check Out” Or something like that. I can’t actually remember it word for word. Crazy, right?
AAAAHHHH!!!! Maybe. Though, I doubt my brain will. It never leaves me alone – not even in the middle of the night when all I wanna do is get some sleep. Hehehehe…. (Okay, I’m cracking up at this! 🤣) *cough* I’m looking the other way right now. XD
Oh, yeah. An army of VERY SKILLED genies. You know, I can TOTALLY see him as a natural-born leader. Though, now I’m REALLY wanting to say something about Genie, but I can’t ’cause of some serious spoilers. An army of cyborgs? I’m not totally letting Genie know about this right now. Oooh, good to know!! 👍 You know, I just really like how Smoke and his girlfriend are cyborgs. I just think it’s cool!!

                    • Ribbon Ash

*Rushes to check it out and rushes back here* I will let my comment there say the words I am thinking right about that post and my mention.
Haha, it isn’t crazy to forget! Especially when you have written quite a few posts!
This is true. My brain will probably leave me alone for only a while and then come back to haunt the idea in my head.
(XD It was a moment of brilliance) *cough* I don’t think she saw, Smoke… Well, he doesn’t believe that.
An army of very-skilled genies against an army very-skilled cyborgs (have I mentioned that they are trained soldiers who have fought in many battles?) Can you? That’s so cool! He wasn’t originally a natural-born leader, but he has made himself into one! Well, then, I will need to read your book so I’ll know what this thing is about Genie! I’m guessing when you say “not totally” you mean the opposite? XD
Aww, thank you! Yes, them being cyborgs together IS just cool!

                    • Maggie

                      Phew! That’s good!!
Aaaahhh OUR BRAINS WILL NEVER TRULY LEAVE US ALONE ABOUT THIS!!!!! So, yeah, I saw your response to my comment on your blog, when either of us comes up with an idea on how this is gonna work, we’ve gotta let the other know.
Well, tell Smoke I have no idea what this whole sentence is about. *cough, cough*
Ooh, no, you didn’t mention that. My genies haven’t fought in a TON of battles, but they’ve been through some pretty intense ones before. (Let’s say, humans are aggressive. Yes, genies wars are always against humans.) I’m glad he’s a natural-born leader now. I think it makes him EVEN COOLER!!!! Aw, I hope one day you can read my book. If you ever do like beta readers for your book and want an extra, crazy girl to read it, totally let me know. Um…*cough, cough* maybe? XD
                      👍

                    • Ribbon Ash

Yes, I will definitely let you know of any ideas!
I tried, but he’s not convinced. He is a bit of distrustful soul. XD
Haha, I hope that they realise that these cyborgs are basically like those aggressive humans in a battle but worse since they are half-human, half machine. XD
                      AWW, THANK YOU!
Me too! Your book sounds amazing!
When the day comes for beta readers, you’ll be on my list to ask!
                      HAHA

                    • Maggie

                      Sweet!!
Hahaha, yeah that kind of seems like him.
Oooh, that’s a good point. I didn’t think about that.
                      YOU’RE WELCOME!!!
Aw THANK YOU!!! You’re just too sweet!!
                      YAY!! Now, I can’t wait.
                      XD
