*drumroll*

Just a little longer….

Almost there…..

Build up the anticipation.

Here we go.

The winner is.

Cregan!!!!

*silence*

*frogs cricketing in the distance*

Just kidding! (Who even likes Cregan?) My real favorite is JARON!!!! Who doesn’t like him?

King Jaron, actually. News must travel slower among the illiterate.”

(That was from The Runaway King.) I have no idea why but that was the first thing that came to my mind, so I just kind of went with it. Here’s some other great moments with Jaron from the other books.

THE FALSE PRINCE

“Next time I checked on him, he’d got over the fever on his own and was a good deal more humble.”
Conner looked at me again. “He doesn’t look so humble now.”
“I got over that too,” I said.

THE SHADOW THRONE (This next one is my all-time favorite quote from the series.)

“I am commanded by the king of Avenia to give you one last order and so I shall. Hear me now and always. Be loyal to the thing you know is right. Never bend to weakness, never yield to a false crown. Right will always triumph in the end, and you will want to be on that side when it does.”

THE CAPTIVE KINGDOM (This is the opening line.)

One may ask, how is the great King Jaron described by those who know him?
The answer rarely includes the word “great,” unless the word to follow is “fool,” though I have also heard “disappointment,” “frustration,” and “chance that he’ll get us all killed.”

Mood board time. This one’s quote comes from The Captive Kingdom.

LOVE IT!!!!

Here’s some more fun stuff.

Okay that is King Jaron’s name written in the sand if you can’t read it. I had actually written out “King Jaron, the Ascendant King of Carthya,” but it wouldn’t all fit into the picture.

I had to make it big, so you could read all the words.

This next one was more Katherine’s idea.

Person: I don't like reading anymore.
Me: Here you go. *hands person The False Prince* I'll have you back in shape in no time.

Now, I’m going to share the summary of The Captive Kingdom from Goodreads.

Jennifer A. Nielsen returns to the world of The False Prince in this fourth book of the Ascendance Series!

In a peaceful Carthya, Jaron leads as the Ascendant King with Imogen beside him — but the peace he fought so long for is not destined to last.

On a routine sea voyage, Jaron’s ship is brutally attacked, and he is taken hostage. The mysterious captors and their leader, Jane Strick, accuse Jaron of unthinkable acts. They are also in possession of some shocking items — including the crown and sword that belonged to Jaron’s older brother, Darius. The items unearth a past Jaron thought he had put behind him.

Though it seems impossible, Jaron must consider: Could Darius be alive? And what does Strick want from Jaron? Against his will, Jaron will be pulled back into a fight for the throne — and a battle to save his kingdom.

So, amazing, I know!! I’ve already read the book from an ARC I won and I can tell you this is a book you’re not going to want to miss.
